Synchronized Knuckle Cracking

Ever wondered what it would sound like if a few thousand people cracked their knuckles at the same time? And in a room with good acoustics?

Well, here it is.

As a fan of knuckle cracking, I approve.

By the way, did you know that it is completely unsubstantiated that knuckle cracking can have ill effects, such as arthritis?

In fact, a certain Dr. Donald L. Unger of Thousand Oaks, California, USA, received a Medicine Ig Nobel prize in 2009 for his 1998 paper titled "Does knuckle cracking lead to arthritis of the fingers?".

In it, he investigated a possible cause of arthritis of the fingers, by diligently cracking the knuckles of his left hand — but never cracking the knuckles of his right hand — every day for more than sixty (60) years. He found none.

Now, that's devotion.

Can You... Bear To Watch?

Sorry about that. Couldn't resist.

A couple of years ago (wow, time is passing so annoyingly fast...) I posted a video of a Canadian runner's encounter with a Grizzly bear. Fortunately for him, the bear wasn't interested.

Here are two more videos of people getting too close to bears.

First, this guy obviously has balls of steel.
Also... wait for it...

Now, this second one is just plain stupid. A definite nope in my book.
All sorts of wrong could have gone down.

Amazing Waterspout Footage from Greece

Amazing footage of a waterspout (tornado over water) caught in 2009 by a tourist at the beautiful beach of Egremni on the Greek island of Lefkada.

Don't be fooled though.
65%-80% of tornadoes worldwide occur in the USA.
Hank Green, host of the SciShow explains "why tornadoes hate America".

This'll Increase Your Appetite

After stumbling upon this rather satisfying ad by Marks & Spencer:

I found these four equally satisfying ads made by the same people, this time for French coffee company Carte Noire.

Enjoy!

JAUNE (Yellow)

ROUGE (Red)

VERT (Green)

ROSE (Pink)

I believe the term for this is food p*rn.

Awkward Star Wars

The final throne room scene, but without the music.

You can hear a pin drop (among other things...).

And here's the original for comparison.

Volcano Erupting in Papua New Guinea

Great footage of the August 29th 2014 eruption of Mount Tavurvur located on the island of New Britain in Papua New Guinea.

You can see the shock wave in the movement of the clouds.
