One Second A Day Video Brings Syrian Civil War To The United Kingdom

A non-funny post this time.

The civil war in Syria has been going on for more than four years now.
The dead are around 250,000 and the misplaced are over 4.5 million, many (if not most) of them children.

What would it be like for a British child if a similar war was actually happening in the UK?
And would that make us empathize more with them than with the Syrian children being affected by a real war right now?

This very creative video by the organization Save The Children shows us and asks us to donate.

Who Wants To Be A Cheater

I recently came across the story of how, in 2001, three people tried to cheat on the UK version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?". And they would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those pesky kids they hadn't been greedy.

The main character is the player, Charles Ingram, and his accomplices were his wife, and a player in waiting.

Airplanes Landing In Strong Crosswind Conditions

A Thomson Airways Boeing 767 encounters a 35-knot (~65km/h) crosswind during landing at Birmingham airport (BHX).

The pilots (and the landing gear) handle it pretty nicely.





It would be interesting to know how it felt for the passengers.

This is hilarious. It is so rare for the BBC to make such a mistake.

The playful music fits the video well and also props to the girl at 04:27 for trying to warn the passersby (many of whom appeared to ignore her).
